HBO To Develop Series Based On Kiedis' Scar Tissue (Underage Sex Included?)

There is no question that Anthony Kiedis' memoir "Scar Tissue" is impossible to put down. It has all the attention-deficit disordered motion -- Kiedis or Kinesis? -- that The Corsair finds so peculiar about the present age. But Kiedis' tome also has a disturbing amount of bragging about sex with underage girls. One of the girls, he confesses, grotesquely, was a 14-year old dolled-up like Marilyn Monroe, who's father was allegedly the chief of police of New Orleans; another was a 15-year old Ione Skye; another was a 17-year old model Jamie Rishar ("She rocked me in a way I hadn't thought was possible by a person of her age -- seventeen").

That's why we found it fucking amazing that HBO is actually developing a series based on the book. Has the statute of limitations for statutory rape expired? HBO's lawyers better check that out. From Variety:

"Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis is developing a series for HBO based on his unconventional, rock 'n' roll childhood.

"Kiedis has partnered with Catapult 360 partners Marc Abrams and Michael Benson to create the series, tentatively titled 'Scar Tissue.'

"Abrams and Benson are scouting for a writer to pen the script, which will center on Kiedis' relationship with his father, Spider, who sold drugs and mingled with rock stars on the Sunset Strip, all while aspiring to get into showbiz."

We will be following this developing series.
