Media-Whore D'Oevres

"In a chaotic scrum with reporters just now at an announcement in the Bronx about energy efficency for public housing, Bill Clinton said Michael Bloomberg was 'a good man and a great mayor.' When asked (by Rafael) if Bloomberg is 'presidential timber,' Clinton said, 'I don't know if he has presidential aspirations,' and that Bloomberg, who was at the announcement with him, is an 'extraordinarily able mayor.'" "'My lunchbox is the worst one here!' lamented Billy Crudup Thursday evening at Saatchi & Saatchi's Far West Village space, where an array of lunch boxes designed by the likes of Marilyn Minter, Natalie Portman, Helena Christensen, Rufus Wainwright, and other prominent names in the fashion, art, and music spheres were auctioned off to benefit Food Bank for New York City and The Lunchbox Fund. As for Crudup's lunchbox, it boasted his son's handprint and his own, as well as a phrase spelled out in puffy paint. 'All the letters are falling off,' the actor sighed, 'and now it makes no sense.' Fellow lunchbox artists Piper Perabo, Maggie Gyllenhaal and Peter Sarsgaard, Anna Sui, Traver Rains, Zac Posen, Rachael Ray, Patti Smith, and supporters such as Priscilla and Lisa Marie Presley all came to check out their artistic endeavors, and snack on a Whole Foods buffet which included veggies and dip, mini wraps, mini sandwiches, shrimp cocktail, and a sorbet bar." "Meanwhile, in Los Angeles, Vogue's European editor at large, Hamish Bowles, was ensconced at the Oscar de la Renta boutique autographing copies of his new book, Vogue Living: Houses, Gardens, People, for the likes of Ginnifer Goodwin, Jennifer Morrison, Rachel Zoe, Liz Goldwyn, Alexandra von Furstenberg, Angie Harmon, and Rosanna Arquette. "I signed 100 copies yesterday, so I have slight wrist pain," said the writer, bemoaning the unforeseen physical demands of a book tour." (Style)
