Viscountess Grace Jones?

In May I wrote this about the possibility of a Viscountess Grace Jones:

"Anyhoo, according to the style wonks at British Vogue, 'super-icon GRACE JONES is courting the ultimate fashion status symbol - a title. Party boy and social commentator Nicky Haslam is telling anybody who'll listen that the 56-year-old Amazonian actress is planning to marry his cousin, Viscount Ivor Wimborne. 'A final date hasn't been set, but Ivor is as in love as ever,' Haslam told The Daily Telegraph, adding that Jones had already ordered her dress and a Philip Treacy hat for the big day. 'It's unusual to sort out the dress before the date, but that's Grace,' he went on. 'People have been saying they'll marry at his home in Northamptonshire, but it wouldn't surprise me if they got hitched somewhere really hip instead.

'"Grace is about 20 years older than the 35 year old aristocrat, and she has been married three times previous. Her milkshake pulls all the boys in Debretts."

The September 2004 edition of Tattler goes into it a bit more:

"The oddest couple in society. Two years ago people were stunned by rumors that highly eligible nob heart throb Ivor was dating terrifying six-foot Eighties icon and Jamaican songstress Jones, whom he met in New York. 'Grace fancied him and he proved powerless to resist.,' reported one friend. The rumors proved true; they are now engaged and as inseparable as ever.

" ... From a young age, Eton-educated Ivor was obsessed with music and, more specifically, Grace herself. Son of the 3rd Viscount Wimbourne and Lady Victoria (now married to Count Vincent POKLEWSKI-KOZIELL, a Polish Prince and pal of Galen Weston), Ivor swiftly embraced the world of music after leaving school. When his father died in a car crash in Paris in 1993 he inherited the title and a cool ($53.6 million). He used ($5.3 million) of this to buy back the family seat five years later -- the Manor House is now worth ($26.8 million)."

That Grace is so saucy. She's a lotta woman. So, I assume, the Viscount is a lotta man. Or a Slave to the Rhythm.

I LOVE Grace! She's not perfect, but she's perfect for that Ivor . . .

Sadly, the last real career move she had was a tv ad for TBS's James Bond movie marathon a few years back. Whatta pity . . .

Re John Corcoran's question: Yes, it's the same man. He lived at Stacumney House, Celbridge, Co Kildare in the 1970s/80s - it was later sold to (and much tarted up by) the billionaire Ryans of Ryanair. He now lives in London, and recently (2014) published his mad and quite wonderful memoirs.
