New York Times Style Magazine: T

According to Fashionweekdaily, the Old Gray Lady is getting a makeover:

"The Gray Lady plans to get its groove on next Wednesday when it joins Barneys New York in hosting a block party to celebrate the launch of its new lifestyle magazine, T, the New York Times Style Magazine.

"Working with Barneys New York creative director, Simon Doonan, the event will take place on the 60th Street side of the store, where the indie rock-meets-Brazilian-beats trio Chris Root, Juju Stulbach and Jon Marshall Smith of the band Mosquitos will perform.

" ... The first issue of the magazine features a gold 'T' prominently affixed to the cover"

And what about the 'A'? When are we going to see the Old Gray Lady's splendiferous 'A'?

"... Actress Kate Winslet, photographed by Raymond Meier, graces the cover of the first issue, which debuts in the Sunday edition of the Times on the 29th. 'We wanted someone recognizable, of course, and Kate was the ideal woman we wanted to reach,' Tonchi explained. Shes an actress thats into fitness, her children and family and fashionbut not obsessed. We also believe that she will be nominated for an Oscar for her performance in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. The actress also has Finding Neverland debuting on September 8 at the 61st-annual Venice Film Festival, at which Tonchi said there is a possibility that they will hold a press conference to introduce T to the international press, though he said there was a logistical issue to iron out, with New York Fashion Week starting that same day.

"The new Twhose edit staff includes executive editor Andy Port, deputy editor Horacio Silva, creative director Janet Froelich, fashion director Anne Christensen, editor-at-large Lynn Hirschberg and writers Suzy Menkes and Tyler Brulewill feature the return of the masthead to the magazine. While previous Style issues have had one mastheadspecifically, in the first issue of the yearT will have a traditional magazine-style one."
